
Western Australian born performer, Lucy Schneider, completed her Masters in Opera Performance with first class honours at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, previously graduating with a Bachelor of Music majoring in vocal performance from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

She made her international operatic debut in 2023 as Najade in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos at the Berlin Opernfest in Germany, and most notably has since gone on to perform the leading role of Gretel in Humperdinck’s opera Hänsel und Gretel. Lucy debuted with Lyric Opera of Melbourne as Vicki in the contemporary Australian opera, The Children’s Bach, and has since performed the role of Echo in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos with the Dramatic Voices Berlin. Prior to her international endeavors she performed several title roles across Australia including Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Cendrillon in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Meg in Adamo’s Little Women, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and her Victorian Opera debut as Spring in Bruckard’s The Selfish Giant.

Alongside her operatic performances Lucy was the featured soloist for the Victorian premiere of Howard Goodall’s oratorio Eternal Light, and has been the recipient of a number of national awards. She was the Audience Award Winner of the German-Australian Opera Grant, winner of the 2023 Opera Scholars Australia Aria Award and Scholar of the Year Award, and scholarship recipient at the prestigious Acclaim Awards resulting in advanced bel canto vocal training in Italy in 2025.
